Redesign an existing website that was created on WIX. Fix the website bugs, glitches and overall errors to being the site to a more usable and pleasant user experience. Set the site up in a simplistic four page boilerplate site structure to allow the user to navigate Safety First Firearms Instruction (SFFI) seamlessly.
I hadn’t used WIX since the early days when it was released to the public, it was the most prudent way of going about redesigning a site but I wanted to help Dave out based on his wishes, the site is complete with simple navigation, later on Dave has said he wants to do more with his site utilizing WordPress, to which I can’t wait for the real fun to begin.
The approach to fixing this site was simple but incorporated modern web design strategies. Dave Vergilis, Owner / Instructor at SFFI, wanted his site to be his main hub of info about his practice. Nothing fancy with SEO enhancements or eye-catching lottie animations but a simple site to house his info. For myself this was a simple walk in the park. He requested the we make the edits to his site in WIX which I was okay doing, but know what can really be done out there on the web, it was limited potential.
Design a website that features an event or call to action that encourages the user to want to engage in the real-life event through an effective & simple marketing strategy presented through the micro-site. The Rolling Stone’s Bandemic Warp Tour is the embodiment of what being in your youth is all about.
Concept was rooted in the idea of putting on a live music event where collective artists from different genres would perform post pandemic that was organized by the Rolling Stones. Wire-frames & testing occurred in Adobe XD & later coded into a working site. The theme is within the name of the festival “Bandemic”, hence we need to band together afterwards together over music and festivities.
This site has very simple navigation and is completed functional via Javascript and JQuery with a concrete foundation in both HTML and Sass. This site was a success with the simplistic and edgy branding.
